Photos Coming: Antique Power Days

Bear with us while we get them organized–some nice shots of the parade and some amazing old equipment.

Happy Labor Day Weekend!

This is the earliest Labor Day can be. Here’s what the U.S. Department of Labor web site says about this annual holiday:

“Labor Day, the first Monday in September, is a creation of the labor movement and is dedicated to the social and economic achievements of American workers. It constitutes a yearly national tribute to the contributions workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of our country.”

Well done workers of America. Hope to see you at the Harvest Party. (And we hope someone updates the Harvest Party web site).

Roseboom Antique Power Days, More Detail

The Pancake Breakfast will run from 8:00AM to Noon on Saturday, August 16.

The parade with start at 1:00PM on Sunday [expect some distruption to traffic on Highway 166 and 165].

See you there!

Roseboom Antique Power Days, August 16-17

Two weeks to go and we are counting down to the Tenth Annual Roseboom Antique Power Days. Saturday and Sunday, August 16-17, 2008.

This gathering of old tractors and other antique machinery has become quite the event in the Roseboom-Cherry Valley-Cooperstown area. If you can make it, expect to see dozens of antique tractors and farm machines as well as a bunch of parallel activities, like eating pancakes. Click here for the general location.

The Roseboom Antique Power Days are a great complement to your trip to the Baseball Hall of Fame and Farmers’ Museum in Cooperstown.

Blogs and Roses: Both blooming in Roseboom, NY

Welcome! This blog is from and about Roseboom, a small town in Otsego County, New York; a place that’s right next to Cherry Valley and not far from Cooperstown. We think it’s a great place to live, especially if you want good neighbors, natural surroundings, and a rural pace of life; all without going too far off the beaten track.

We will try to keep this blog fresh with new posts whenever we get a chance but there are bound to be times when we get too busy (a rural pace is not necessarily a slow pace).

This time of year things are ripening fast around here, like the corn and the veggies and the sour cherries. And the roses are blooming, although that has nothing to do with why the town is called Roseboom.
